Russia’s Odnoklassniki to deal with video monetization by 2017

MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) -- Russian social network Odnoklassniki will try to monetize its video services at the end of 2016, the network’s head Anton Fedchin said on Friday.

“Most likely, we will focus on the matter at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year,” Fedchin said.

Odnoklassniki has tested various models of monetization, but not seriously, he said.

At the first stage, the social network will use an advertising model and will engage other options in the future, including purchases of content.

Odnoklassniki said that it had launched an application for Smart TV, called OK Video, for TV sets by Samsung and later for LG.
